Qwello, a fast-growing European provider of public EV charging infrastructure, has secured growth equity investment of up to EUR 55 million from ABN AMRO Sustainable Impact Fund (“ABN AMRO SIF”) and existing shareholders, including Tiger Infrastructure Partners (“Tiger Infrastructure”), which has supported Qwello’s impressive growth since 2021. The investment will support the continued expansion of Qwello’s public charging network across European cities, alongside selective acquisitions that complement its existing business.
The new equity investment further strengthens Qwello’s financial foundation as it scales its privately financed charging infrastructure in close partnership with municipalities. Qwello currently operates more than 19,500 charge points across more than 800 municipalities in Denmark, France, Germany, the Netherlands, Poland, Sweden, Spain, and the United Kingdom, and the company plans to significantly expand its footprint over the next decade. Qwello’s focus remains on densely populated urban and residential areas, where convenient and reliable public charging is essential to the transition to electric mobility.
IMPROVED acted as the exclusive financial advisor to Qwello on this transaction, positioning the company as a multi-market infrastructure platform and running a targeted process with infrastructure and impact investors. IMPROVED led the transaction from positioning through documentation to close. The transaction follows IMPROVED’s advice to Qwello on its majority acquisition of Groen-Eco and builds on our track record across EV charging and broader electrification infrastructure.
