As the global shift to electrification accelerates, grid stress continues to intensify. Across Europe alone, the European Union estimates that an investment of €730bn for distribution grids and €472bn for transmission infrastructure will be required by 2040 to advance the internal energy market and expand grid capacity. Furthermore, many distribution networks in the EU are set to exceed 40 years old by 2030 [2]. As for the U.S., more than 70% of transmission lines are already over 25 years old [3].
This combination of aging infrastructure and static grid investments is driving urgent demand for digitalized solutions to improve capacity and resilience on a global scale. Grid Flexibility solutions and platforms are rapidly emerging to monitor, manage, and optimize grid use. We are seeing increased strategic investor interest in proven, scalable platforms, combining recurring revenues and regulatory alignment. IMPROVED is well-positioned to help clients capitalize on these opportunities.
